SWEET BEGINNINGS: Whitney and Will went to school together but ran in different crowds. They reconnected at a wedding in Austin in 2011 and the rest is history.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Like any other night, the couple took their beagle, Elvis, for a walk after dinner. A couple minutes in, Will stopped and put his arms around Whitney and started talking. She did not initially realize what was going on, but then he slipped a ring on her finger. It was perfectly simple and perfectly “them.”
GET HER LOOK: Whitney wore an ivory gown of silk tulle, Chantilly lace and re-embroidered lace appliqué by Vera Wang with a sweetheart neckline, soft pleated illusion straps, a fitted bodice and an ivory grosgrain ribbon at the waist. The fitted A-line skirt lined with buttons fell beautifully into a long circular chapel train. She also wore a cathedral veil of Brussels rose point appliqué lace that was worn by her mother and grandmother.
AMAZING ALTAR: Whitney and Will exchanged vows beneath Merveille Floral & Design Atelier’s asymmetrical composition of fluffy white hydrangeas, alabaster garden roses, ivory majolikas and wild smilax vine mounted on a grape vine trellis, which was attached to an elevated riser covered in burlap cloth.
SAVORY SWEETS: The wedding cake was a four-tiered creation with alternating layers of white and tiramisu cake, and a cascade of flowers down the side. The red velvet and chocolate groom’s cake was crafted into the shape of the couple’s beloved beagle, Elvis!
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Whitney will always cherish the time spent with her girlfriends leading up to the ceremony. She also loved ending the night on stage belting out Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” with Will, which was out-of-character for them but tons of fun!
