Shamim Sabeti and Paul Javid’s Minimalist Austin Wedding
THE PROPOSAL: The couple was in Baltimore for the holidays when Paul took Shamim to their favorite Mexican restaurant. When they ordered guacamole, to Shamim’s surprise, out came a baby blue Le Creuset Dutch oven pot wrapped in a bow. Inside the pot was a bed of pink roses with an engagement ring sitting atop. Paul got down on one knee and popped the question, but that wasn’t all – a secret photographer was hiding to document the engagement and for dessert, Paul had her favorite cake overnighted from New York City. When they came home, Shamim’s apartment had been thoughtfully decorated with the most beautiful flowers. Much to Shamim’s surprise, Paul had gone to visit her dad earlier that day to ask permission for her hand in marriage. It was a dream!
THE SETTING: Prospect House is modern, minimal, peaceful and beautiful. The modern-day barn is set in the beautiful grasslands of Dripping Springs. The magical part about the venue was that the fields were in full bloom with wildflowers everywhere, an unexpected bonus that made Shamim and Paul’s day that much more beautiful.
DELICIOUS DISHES: Royal Fig Catering made an excellent meal. Shamim and Paul chose to serve each table family-style with farm-to-table food. For dessert, there were three cakes on different cake stands with fresh flowers. The delicious cakes were almond with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream.
VENDOR LOVE: Twyla Rochelle from Remi + Gold understood Shamim and Paul’s vision and aesthetic perfectly. There was so much they didn’t have to explain to her; she just “got it.” The couple felt lucky to have found her and fully trusted her with décor and installations.
