Kate Vasseur and Louis Granger’s Colorful Tropical-Inspired Austin Wedding
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Kate and Louis met in September of 2015. Kate had just moved back to Austin after being away for ten years living in New York City and Bangkok. She met Louis downtown at the JW Marriott only a week after returning to Austin!
SWEET PROPOSAL: Louis proposed while they were on holiday in New Orleans. It was a complete surprise to Kate! They were staying at a friend’s historic and beautiful apartment when Louis proposed outside on the balcony overlooking Jackson Square.
THE SETTING: Escondido has the old world flavor of Tuscany reborn in a pastoral setting on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in the Texas Hill Country. It provided a beautiful setting overlooking the golf course, indoor and outdoor seating options, ample room for 350 guests, and amazing food and drinks.
HUES SHE USED: The theme of Kate and Louis’ big day was classic with a fun twist. Indoors was a cream and pastel romantic palette – outside had a party palette with colorful flowers and aqua blue tablecloths. Their florist, Keith Burnham, helped with choosing an amazing color scheme.
GET HER LOOK: Kate wore a V-neck silk and Alencon lace Ann Barge gown. The frock from the designer’s fall 2016 collection featured rows of soutache outlining the neckline, midriff and hem. The bride wore diamond and pearls earrings from the Menagerie, gifted to her by the groom.
BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET: The simplicity of the bride’s bouquet was created using Juliette garden roses, New Zealand peonies, Japanese ranunculus and Dutch sweet peas finished in a Midori ivory satin.
