SWEET BEGINNINGS: Erika and Seth met while working together as cooks in a country club outside of Austin. Erika was about to leave for culinary school when she and Seth realized they didn’t want to be without each other, so they decided to give long-distance dating a shot. After over a year of being long distance, and more than five years together, it worked in their favor!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Erika and Seth frequent Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, as it has always been their special place. Seth made dinner plans, and toward the end of the meal, Erika naturally suggested they skip dessert and head to Mozart’s for sweets and coffee. They grabbed coffee, took a seat at their usual spot, and Seth chugged his coffee and ran to “get a refill.” Moments later, Erika turned to see Seth with a bouquet of flowers and her sister snapping photos as Seth proposed. The whole coffee shop exploded with cheers and Erika was surprised to see both of their families in the coffee shop. She was so excited, she forgot about the ring until she was asked to show it. It was exactly the ring Erika wanted, making the whole evening a total dream!
KATE SPADE INSPIRATION: Erika and Seth didn’t have a precise theme but they were definitely influenced by the designs of Kate Spade. There were stripes, polka dots, metallics, and black and white mixed with pops of coral. They wanted a very traditional look, yet also fun!
SAVORY SWEETS: Since Erika is a wedding cake decorator herself, she was most excited about their wedding cake. Candace of Simply Delicious Custom Cakes brought Erika’s vision to life. The layers of the tuxedo cake matched their black-and-white-stripe theme, making it the perfect centerpiece to the event.
