Jenna Wangler and Hunter Bowers’ Elegant Austin Wedding Captured by Julie Wilhite Photography
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Jenna and Hunter met in the summer of 2009 before their sophomore year of college.
THE PROPOSAL: Jenna and Hunter took a walk in the neighborhood park where Hunter originally planned to propose. When they got there, Hunter realized there were more people out than he expected, and he got too nervous. Before Hunter knew it, they had already turned back to head to his house. When they got inside, Hunter proposed. The couple then went to Hunter’s sister’s house where her entire family, as well as his family, surprised Jenna.
THE SETTING: Jenna and Hunter wanted a downtown wedding that still had some outdoor accessibility, and the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin hotel, with its wraparound patio and views of the Capitol, sold them.
HUES SHE USED: Jenna and Hunter wanted a classic and elegant black-tie wedding. They used black, gold and white to complete a time-honored wedding atmosphere and look.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Jenna’s bouquet was a nosegay bouquet of white garden roses, finished with an ivory ribbon.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: The first look was not only a great moment but also calming before the ceremony. Once Jenna had put her dress on, she started to get nervous. When the couple did their first look, and Jenna got to see her future husband, those nerves completely went away. She felt calm and relaxed the rest of the evening.
DELICIOUS DESSERTS: Jenna and Hunter wanted a simple, classic cake; however, neither of them are big fans of cake. Instead they went with Amy’s Ice Cream for the groom and red velvet cake for the bride.
