Elegant and timeless in design, the grandmillennial style trend has our hearts – signed, sealed, delivered. The Grand Lady in Austin served as the perfect vintage-inspired setting for this elegant editorial planned and designed by Elsie Event Co. with modern and classic details. A grand tablescape of china, flatware, glassware and embroidered linens from Marquee Event Rentals add a luxe, springy feel while bright blooms from Flora Fetish add timeless romance in the form of classic roses nestled in milk glass. Mix traditional floral prints with modern dinnerware and rentals to easily achieve the season’s granny chic trend! A blue paisley tiered cake design from Sweet Treets Bakery is a fun touch for any wedding scene, just like darling raw-edged gray and white paperie from Owl & Envelope. Menu and place cards are no exception, designed with the same delicate script as the custom signage created by them as well. There is exquisite design and inspiration galore throughout this timelessly elegant editorial, all captured by the talented Joslyn Holtfort Photography. Read on for notes from the planner as well as the calligrapher about the vision, design and their contributions to this elegant editorial. Cheers!

From the planner, Camille at Elsie Event Co.: “We wanted to put a fresh, spring spin on the grandmillennial design by partnering with The Grand Lady, which felt like the perfect al fresco setting. We instantly fell in love with an embroidered linen from our friends at Marquee Event Rentals which sparked the design concept. The mix of a modern design by Flora Fetish with classic roses nestled in milk glass provided the perfect mix of old and new. The grand cake by Sweet Treets Bakery tied in the embroidery pattern along with a modernized crest by Owl & Envelope.

From the calligrapher, Megan at Owl & Envelope: “This suite was largely inspired by the hand dip-dyed silk ribbon that had just the perfect touch of antique to it. From there, I used more traditional elements like the custom crest, handmade paper and toile printed envelope liner to really bring out the historical feel. Grandmillennial is all about using antique and historical elements in a modern way, so by tying in tone on tone paper and modern calligraphy in the invites themselves, we could create an entire suite that felt modern, but gave a solid nod to tradition.”
