Uniquely flavorful wedding cakes make for a memorable dessert your guests will not only love, but will be talking about long after the celebration ends! We invited some of Austin’s top wedding cake bakers to gather at 7Co Event Venue to show off their skills and create a few special flavorful wedding cakes for our latest mag, and not only are these beauties full of delicious and different flavors, they’re almost too pretty to eat! Almost. Read below to see the flavor profiles that inspired each baker and a little bit about their companies. The hearts behind each of their businesses is the icing on the cake!

Flavor Profiles: Caramel apple pie, Irish car bomb, caramelized white chocolate raspberry, port blueberry
Inspiration: “We are all about making everything from scratch – just the way it should be. We never use any ingredients we cannot pronounce! Our designs range from delicate to modern, and we are always staying on top of the next big trend. We are always intrigued by new techniques in decorating a wedding cake, and we love to explore those options with our brides.”
Flavor Profiles: Red velvet cake with cream cheese, blackberry cake with almond buttercream, chocolate cake with peanut butter icing & chocolate ganache
Inspiration: Sisters April and Ashley believe good food starts with good ingredients. They opened 2Tarts in 2010 and dedicated their business to feeding your family, body, mind and soul, satisfying your inner sweet tooth along the way!
Flavor Profiles: strawberry champagne, mocha my love, lemon raspberry
Inspiration: “We’ve noticed a small trend in using sugar flowers in lieu of fresh flowers – which we have a lot of fun preparing. Our range is extraordinary: we are experts in simple and beautiful cakes for the whimsical, Hill County fete, and excel in highly detailed, intricate and glamorous cakes for the more urban ballroom occasion.”
Flavor Profiles: Neapolitan chocolate cake with strawberry & vanilla buttercream, seasonal avocado mint cake with ginger & coconut buttercream, almond cake with rosewater buttercream, lychee coco butter ganache & fresh raspberries, all vegan and gluten-free
Inspiration: “We are entirely gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. We consider it a challenge and a breakthrough and are so excited to be able to offer desserts to many people suffering with gluten and dairy allergies, but also to those who have ethical issues that are so important to them and their lifestyle.”
Flavor Profiles: vanilla cake with raspberry jam & raspberry buttercream, chocolate cake with dulce de leche buttercream, vanilla & chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream & bittersweet chocolate ganache
Inspiration: “Cakes are like pieces of art to me. Our cakes are balanced and not overly sweet, our designs are flawless, and our customer service is attentive and personal. We want our customers to have a stellar experience from the moment they contact us, to the moment their event is finished.”
